 Painting & decorating

  • Yes. We will apply various techniques to ensure a seamless finish.

Keep in mind that even if you purchase the exact paint colour and brand, touch-ups may still stand out. This may occur if the existing wall paint is old or has been exposed to sunlight and other environmental elements. In this case, we recommend painting the entire wall. We will expertly apply your colour matched paint corner to corner creating a perfect blend.

  • Yes. Where practicable, large pieces of furniture are moved to the centre of the room and covered with drop sheets. If necessary, we will temporarily remove and reinstall the room's furnishings.

  • We will keep dust to minimal when sanding by using extractors. We will also seal off any areas and cover vulnerable pieces.

  • A homeowner can usually stay in their home. It depends on the scope of the work and how long it will affect critical areas like the kitchen and bathrooms. The room must be sealed until all surfaces are painted. We will plan the project so you can reside as comfortably and uninterruptedly as possible.

  • It depends on how a room is utilised and how much shine you prefer. The higher the shine, the more wipeable and durable the paint surface. However, higher sheens accentuate texture and wall irregularities. Colours will also look different. Higher sheens bounce and focus light.

  • In most interior projects where moisture and heat are not present, bubbling and peeling are not common issues. Homeowners with pets and children will notice more nicks, dents, and grime. In these circumstances, we recommend using a higher sheen of paint, especially in the hallway or children's bedroom, so that most of these items can be wiped down.

 Wall repairs

  • It depends. A small crack or minor damage is fast and simple to repair. In the case of a very large hole or a serious problem like a heavy mould infestation, where the spores may have spread throughout the drywall, replacement is usually the best option.

  • Cracks less than one mm in width, or those between one and five millimeters in width, are typically not a cause for concern. They are a fissure in the plaster, not the wall, so they can be easily filled and painted over.

If the cracks you're attempting to repair are quite large and deep, or wider than five millimetres, you may need to contact a structural engineer who can determine the cause of the problem and how to remedy it.

  • Ensure that the underlying cause of the problem has been addressed prior to making any repairs to drywall or repainting. We will ensure your water damaged drywall is repaired, prepped, and use stain-blocking primer specifically designed to prevent this from happening and ensure a smooth, even finish.

 tiles & grouting

  • Yes. We can handle basic tiling jobs and replace broken tiles. Where a broken or cracked tile needs to be removed and replaced, it is more cost-effective if you have some of the replacement tiles ready for us.

  • Unless they are readily available, tiles can be difficult to match. It may be best to contact a tiling contractor or tile manufacturer for this.

  • Yes, if your grout is otherwise in excellent condition, grout paint may be a viable option for restoring it to like-new condition. However, we strongly recommend repairing any damaged areas first to avoid water damage to your property.

  • Not necessarily. Most tile installers, unless they come back the following day, do not seal because the grout must cure first. There is no cause for concern as long as your tiler employed the proper materials and methods to apply the grout. However, it is something you should do to keep your grout looking its best because sealed grout is much easier to keep clean as it will be water-resistant, preventing the growth of mould and dirt.

  • Grout sealers degrade with time, so you'll need to reseal grout on a floor every three to five years. Shower grout should be resealed once a year. Before resealing, always thoroughly clean the grout.

  • We recommend that any old silicone be removed. While new, fresh silicone can be applied to old silicone and adhere to it, the bond will be weaker than if it were applied to a clean surface. Applying sealant to a seal that doesn’t function as intended does not work.

  • We do not recommend patchwork or applying sealant to a seal that doesn’t function as intended. We can replace sections of the damaged silicone depending on situations such colour matching and the surrounding environment. However often times, it is easier and more cost-effective to replace the whole section.

You won’t need to obtain a permit if the work is routine repair and maintenance (for example, replacing panels on a fence).

 timber deck repairs

  • Yes, ideally. We recommend staining or painting your new deck to protect your investment from the elements and extend its life. Stains and paints for decking are specially formulated to offer superior protection against the harsh elements of nature, such as heat, hail, rain, and wind.

  • All Timber Decking require a minimum of annual maintenance. Depending on the location of the deck, some decks require more maintenance than others. If a deck is entirely exposed to the elements, it may need to be cleaned and oiled more frequently than a deck that is under cover.

  • Yes. We can fill any gaps in your deck, sand it back, and reseal it.

  • Under Victorian building regulations, a building permit is usually required for decks, as they typically use a structural subfloor. Wood slats put directly on a surface like concrete or soil are not considered a deck because there is no structure to hold them up, so in this case, a permit is generally not required.

Please always check with your local council.
